International Erasmus+ Project Launched at VTDT to Modernize Ukrainian Agricultural Education

From March 17 to 19 of this year, the Vidzeme Technology and Design Vocational Education Institution (VTDT) hosted international partners within the framework of the ERASMUS+ CBVET project "TUADIG – Transforming Ukrainian Agricultural Education for the Digital Era." The project will be implemented from 2026 to 2028 and aims to promote the modernization of Ukrainian agricultural vocational education by integrating digital and simulation-based learning solutions.

The in-person meeting was attended by partners from Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Ukraine – the Ylä-Savo Municipal Federation of Education (YSAO), JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Järva County Vocational College (Järvamaa Rakenduslik Kolledž), Vidzeme Technology and Design Vocational Education Institution, and Berdychiv Higher Vocational School. Other Ukrainian partners joined the meeting remotely, ensuring a hybrid meeting format.

During the visit, the partners introduced their organizations, shared experiences, and discussed the project's goals, tasks, and planned activities, adopting the first essential decisions for successful project implementation. The meeting served as a significant foundation for future cooperation, strengthening the partners' mutual understanding and shared vision.

The TUADIG project addresses critical challenges in Ukrainian vocational education caused by infrastructure damage, outdated curricula, and limited access to digital tools. Within the project, plans include strengthening teachers' digital and pedagogical competencies, developing modern training courses, and introducing innovative solutions such as tractor and drone simulators and an Extended Reality (XR) learning environment.

During the project, it is planned to train at least 170 educators, reach over 500 learners, and support more than 20 educational institutions, fostering the development of digital and sustainable skills in the agricultural sector.

The VTDT team was truly pleased to host international partners and launch a new cooperative project that will significantly contribute to the development of vocational education and the introduction of innovations in both Latvia and Ukraine.
