Needs Analysis finished – Findings will shape upcoming trainings

The TUADIG project’s needs analysis is now completed, and its findings will providevaluable direction for the project’s upcoming training activities. According to theanalysis, key development needs in Ukrainian agricultural vocational educationinclude simulation pedagogy and the pedagogical use of emerging agriculturaltechnologies such as drones and data-driven working methods.

The analysis shows that teachers already have a solid foundation in the use ofgeneral digital tools, but there is a clear need for further development especially indesigning and facilitating simulation-based learning, as well as in assessment, feedback, and the pedagogical use of new technologies. Stakeholders also highlightthe need for more practical and up-to-date education that responds to thecompetence requirements of increasingly digitalised and automated agriculture.

The findings of the report will be used directly in the design of TUADIG trainings. Thefirst major output will be an open online course, launching in autumn 2026,focusing on competence-based simulation pedagogy and digital tools, providingparticipants the pedagogical foundation for applying simulation pedagogy in theupcoming two hands-on trainings. Later in the project, teachers will also be trained inthe use of drone and tractor simulations as well as immersive learning environments.

There is a lot to look forward to, so stay tuned for upcoming training announcements! TUADIG will be offering timely and inspiring opportunities to strengthen teaching andlearning for the future of agricultural education.

Participation in NordYrk 2026 provided an important platform for disseminatingTUADIG’s work and engaging with an international community committed toadvancing vocational education. The TUADIG project continues to develop training solutions based on these findings, supporting the modernisation of agricultural VET in Ukraine.
